National Professional Driver Championship
The RTMC, an affiliate of the Union Internationale Des Chauffeurs Routiers (a body that co-ordinates and represents the interest of professional drivers worldwide) will be hosting a World Professional Drivers' Championship in South Africa in August 2012.
The World Championship provides an opportunity for professional drivers to assess their skills against drivers worldwide and the RTMC would similarly like to host a national professional drivers' championship to not only evaluate the competencies of drivers nationally, but to also identify a team to represent South Africa at the world championships.
The RTMC is encouraging ‘Champion Drivers' within a company to participate in the national competition which is anticipated to take place in early December 2011 in Gauteng.
The categories of vehicles for the competition are buses, rigid x 2 (drivers over and under 22 years of age), rigid four wheel trailers, articulated and 3.5 ton delivery vehicles.
