he Krom River catchment on the southern coast of the Eastern Cape supplies about 40% of Port Elizabeth’s water. A commonage is anything that is jointly used – like a pasture. The 107 hectares that makes up the Oudtshoorn Commonage is used for livestock. The Department of Rural Development and Land Reform has helped put up fencing and a watering system. At present the farm has provided job opportunities for 20 people. Read More
